Andrew is a pioneer in business culture and transformation. Over the past 35 years, he has guided many business leaders and companies, both large and small, to fulfil their latent potential. He has a natural intuition for spotting and nurturing talent and specialises in acquiring high quality teams of people who foster a culture of creative thinking. His passion lies in showing people that there is an alternative strategy for doing business.
He started out in the finance world in 1973 becoming Chief Executive of Nelson Hurst & Marsh Limited. He grew the business by 60% per annum compound growth over 10 years and in 1986 it was sold to Citigroup for £52 million.
A subsequent spiritual awakening led to the completion of a degree in theology and philosophy, a master’s degree in psychology, and a series of intensive spiritual training programmes. Andrew combined these years of inner enquiry with his business experience and established a thriving and pioneering clinical practice in London, working with individuals and businesses to create exponential change.
In 1993, he returned to the business world to establish Andrew Wallas & Marsh Ltd. He wanted to apply everything he had learnt and experienced to create a business with a spiritual ethos. When the business was sold for £28 million, every employee was a shareholder and benefited from the value creation.
At this point Andrew realised that there was an opportunity to weave the two threads of his life together into a transformative set of principles for work and life, and so he developed a radical new approach to business called Business Alchemy. He wrote a book, created an online programme, and began to introduce Business Alchemy to the corporate world.
In 2017, he was asked to undertake a management buy-out of an FCA Regulated financial services company in the City of London. He raised £3.8m to purchase the company and took the opportunity to apply the principles of Business Alchemy on an in-depth, day-to-day basis. A shift in culture occurred surprisingly quickly and in 2020 the company, of which Andrew is currently Chairman, was given an external valuation of £22 million.
Alongside this, Andrew delivers one to one coaching, group workshops or training programmes to senior board directors. He is not afraid to point out uncomfortable truths and uses a combination of rational thought, heartfelt wisdom and gut instinct alongside a range of techniques, kinaesthetic, physical and existential to help clients release the obstacles that are standing in their way and to get to the true heart of their intentions.
